Consonant, an American alternative rock group from Boston, Massachusetts, was formed in 2001 by Clint Conley, who had previously cofounded post-punk group Mission of Burma. Consonant was established with guitarist Chris Brokaw, bassist Winston Braman, and drummer Matt Kadane. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2002, followed by Love And Affliction in 2003. Though Consonant was less experimental than Mission of Burma, the group was praised as a return to the spotlight for Conley.
