Biography

Connie Price and the Keystones is a musical group from Los Angeles, California, led by guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Dan Ubick. The project blends funk, hip-hop, psych, and soul influences. In 2004, Connie Price released an EP titled Blood's Haul on Now Again Records, followed by the instrumental album Wildflowers. The group gained prominence as a backing band for Big Daddy Kane from 2008 to 2012. In 2008, they released their debut studio album Tell Me Something on Ubiquity Records, featuring guest appearances from Percee P and Aloe Blacc, among others. In 2014, they digitally released four songs under the title "Lucas High EP," a tribute to Euro jazz-funk session man Doug Lucas. The EP was later expanded into a full LP release titled Lucas High, featuring artists from the golden age of hip hop and receiving critical praise from funk and hip-hop enthusiasts.
