Biography

Coleske is a pop‑rock group formed by brothers Arnold and Ewald Coleske, who were born in South Africa (exact birth dates not publicly available). The duo began their musical journey in the early 1990s, drawing on their South African roots while integrating German pop sensibilities. Their breakthrough came in 1997 when the single "Take Me Where The Sun Is Shining" entered European charts, reaching number 7 in Austria and number 75 in Germany, and becoming a lasting radio staple; the track was issued as an EP titled Take Me Where The Sun Is Shining and later featured on their debut album Coleske (1997). In 2000, they released the album Faith In Love, continuing their presence in the pop‑rock scene. The group’s debut album achieved double platinum status in South Africa and earned a South African Music Award, while total album sales reached approximately 350,000 copies. After 2001, Coleske shifted focus from performing to music production, and no further studio releases were issued. Their legacy is marked by the enduring popularity of "Take Me Where The Sun Is Shining" and the commercial success of their debut, positioning them as a notable one‑hit wonder of the late 1990s.
