Coals is an electronic duo from Poland, formed in 2014 by Katarzyna "Kacha" Kowalczyk and Åukasz RozmysÅowski. The duo met online after Kowalczyk covered a song by RozmysÅowski, who was then known as Coast Range. Their first release, the EP Homework, was released in October 2014. Coals gained early traction with live performances at festivals in MysÅowice, PoznaÅ, and Katowice, culminating in a notable appearance of one of their singles on KEXP's Song of the Day segment. In 2017, they released their debut album Tamagotchi, which received critical acclaim. The duo continued to evolve musically, releasing the EP Klan in 2019 and the album Docusoap in 2020. In 2024, Coals released their third album, Sanatorium. Kowalczyk was also known for her work with the experimental electronica duo Muka and as a collaborator with various artists, while RozmysÅowski released solo projects under the name Lucassi.
