Biography

Social Studies was an indie rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 2006. The original lineup included Natalia Rogovin on vocals and keyboards, Aaron Weiss on guitar, Darren Henry on bass, and Michael Jirkovsky on drums. Their first release was the EP This Is the World's Biggest Hammer in 2006. After touring and attending SXSW in 2009, the band underwent several lineup changes. They released their debut LP Wind Up Wooden Heart on July 27, 2010, under Antenna Farm Records, which charted at Number 49 on CMJ. The album featured the singles "Holler Boys" and "Time Bandit". The band continued to tour extensively, playing major festivals such as SXSW, CMJ, and Noise Pop between 2010 and 2012. Their sophomore LP Developer was released on November 27, 2012.
