Biography

Closet Monster was a Canadian punk rock band from Ajax, Ontario. Formed in 1997 at Pickering High School by Mark Spicoluk and Jesse Colburn, the group initially gained traction with their early releases such as So Be It in 1997 and Where the Fuck is the Revolution? in 2000. The band's anarchist-themed lyrics and energetic performances quickly garnered attention, leading to extensive touring across Canada, the United States, and Europe. Notable albums include Killed the Radio Star (2002) and We Rebuilt this City (2004). Closet Monster shared stages with prominent acts like Billy Talent, Rise Against, and Alexisonfire, and played dates on the Warped Tour in 2004 & 2005. The band's final show took place on December 8, 2005, at the Phoenix in Toronto but reunited in 2009 for a performance at Wakestock Festival. In 2016, Underground Operations released Suicide Note, an anthological compilation of Closet Monster’s work.
