Clash is a Thai rock band formed in 1997 by students at Rajavinit Bangkaew School under the name Lucifer. After finishing as first runner-up in the 1998 Hotwave Music Awards the group signed with GMM Grammy and adopted the name Clash before releasing their debut album One (2001). The band featured lead vocalist Preeti Barameeanant, guitarists Chodchapak Pholthanachod and Thapana Na Bangchang, bassist Sukrit Sripaoraya, and drummer Anan Dapphetthikon. Their discography included the studio albums Soundshake (2003), Brainstorm (2004), Emotion (2005), Crashing (2006), Rock of Ages (2008), and Nine Miss U 2 (2010). Their musical style evolved from J-rock influences to a blend of alternative rock, hard rock, nu metal, acoustic rock, and orchestral elements. Barameeanant also composed songs for other artists including the groups Golf-Mike and Rose Sirintip. Clash contributed the song âNueng mitr chid klaiâ to the film Beautiful Boxer (2003) and participated in the Little Rock Project (2003) and Pack-4 (2004) collaborative albums. The band announced a hiatus in 2010 to pursue individual interests and held a farewell concert in 2011. Clash reunited in 2018 and released the single âJai Yen Yenâ before issuing the album Loudness (2020). The group entered another hiatus in 2023 as members focused on personal duties and different musical directions.
