Biography
Clare Burson, born in Memphis, Tennessee, is an American indie folk singer-songwriter. She began her musical journey as a classically trained violinist. In 2003, she released her debut album The In-Between. This was followed by the EP Idaho in 2005. Burson's subsequent albums include Thieves (2007) and Silver and Ash (2010), the latter of which was produced by Tucker Martine and released by Rounder Records. The album drew from her research on her family's life in Nazi Germany, a theme that earned her a grant from Six Points Fellowship for Emerging Jewish Artists to write an album with Jewish themes. Burson graduated from Brown University and studied Identity Politics and The Holocaust in Germany on a Fulbright Scholarship.
