Charles Kofi Amankwaa Mann, known as C.K. Mann, was a Ghanaian highlife musician and producer born in 1936 in Cape Coast, Ghana. After briefly working as a seaman, he joined Moses Kweku Oppong's Kakaiku band before moving to Ocean Strings, which he led until 1965. His breakthrough came in 1969 with the release of his single "Edina Benya". Mann then joined the Carousel 7 and added Western musical instruments to traditional Ghanaian fishermen rhythms. Throughout his career, he released numerous hit songs including "Adwoa Yankey" (1995) and "Obaa yaa aye me bone" (1995). In 2006, Mann received the Grand Medal of Ghana from President John Agyekum Kufour for his contributions to Ghanaian music. His last album, Wope Nye Ho, was produced by West Gold Music Studio in Takoradi and released in 2014. He passed away on March 20, 2018, at the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority hospital in Takoradi.
