Civil Civic is an Australian instrumental post-punk and electronic rock ensemble established in 2009. The group consists of the musicians Aaron Cupples and Benjamin Green. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by energetic and intellectual compositions using a drum machine called the Box. The ensemble was founded after Cupples contacted Green through Myspace and the musicians jammed for two weeks in Barcelona. Their recording career began with the extended play EP1 (2010). The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the song "Less Unless" (2010) which reached Number 1 on the Hype Machine charts and was featured in the magazine NME. Their discography included the song "Run Overdrive" (2010) and the song "Lights on a Leash" (2010). Civil Civic achieved professional recognition for signing with the booking agency Julie Tippex. Their recording career included the debut studio recording Rules (2011) and the song "When You Gonna Find Me a Wife?" (2014) featuring the musician R. Stevie Moore. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the studio recording The Test (2016).
