Christina Victoria Grimmie was born on March 12, 1994, in Marlton, New Jersey, and began performing as a child, playing piano and singing choirs. She launched her music career in 2009 by posting cover songs on YouTube under the username zeldaxlove64, quickly gaining attention for her rendition of "Party in the U.S.A." and building a subscriber base that reached one million by 2011. In June 2011, she released her debut EP Find Me, which entered Billboard 200 at number 35, and followed with the single "Advice" on Radio Disney. After touring with Selena Gomez & the Scene and opening for the Jonas Brothers, Grimmie signed with Island Records in 2013 and issued her first studio album With Love on August 6, 2013, featuring the single "Tell My Mama". In 2014, she appeared on season six of The Voice, finishing third, and subsequently signed with Adam Levineâs 222 Records, though she remained with Island for a period before parting ways in 2015. She released the EP Side A on February 21, 2016, and appeared in film The Matchbreaker. Tragically, on June 10, 2016, Christina Victoria Grimmie was shot and died following a concert in Orlando, Florida. Posthumously, her EP Side B was released in April 2017 and her album All Is Vanity followed in June 2017, preserving her legacy pop soul music.
