Christian Borle, born Christian Dominique Borle on October 1, 1973 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is an American stage actor and singer who has earned two Tony Awards and a Grammy. After graduating from the School of Drama at Carnegieâ¯Mellon University in 1995, Christian Dominique Borle moved to Newâ¯York City, where he first appeared as an elf in Macyâs Santaland before joining national tours of West Side Story and Footloose and later the Broadway revival of Jesus Christ Superstar. Christian Borleâs breakthrough came with his portrayal of Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie, a role that attracted the attention of producers and critics alike. Christian Dominique Borle has since originated and starred in Broadway hits such as Spamalot, Legally Blonde, Peter and the Starcatcher (earning a Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Play), Something Rotten! (winning Best Featured Actor in a Musical), Falsettos, Mary Poppins, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In 2024, Christian Dominique Borle won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album for the original cast recording of Some Like It Hot. Christian Dominique Borleâs screen work includes starring as Tom Levitt in the NBC series Smash and voicing Vox in the animated series Hazbin Hotel. Throughout Christian Dominique Borleâs career, he demonstrated versatility across musical theatre, television, and voice acting, earning multiple Tony nominations.
