Biography

Pavlo Simtikidis, known professionally as Pavlo, was born on June 29, 1969, in Toronto, Canada. The Greek-Canadian guitarist is the son of Greek immigrants George and Freda Simtikidis from Kastoria, Greece. Pavlo's career began with a distinctive Mediterranean sound that blended folkloric styles of Greek, Spanish, and Latin music with pop sensibilities. His debut album Pavlo was released in 1998 and certified Gold in Canada. This success was followed by the release of Fantasia in 2000, which also achieved Gold certification and earned a Juno Award nomination for Best Instrumental Album. In 2009, Pavlo collaborated with Oscar Lopez and Rik Emmett on the album Trifecta, which received another Juno Award nomination. Throughout his career, Pavlo has sold over half a million records worldwide and performed an average of 150 concerts per year. Notable achievements include performing for His Royal Highness Prince Charles in 2001. His most recent albums include Together (2019) and Santorini (2022).
