Biography

Chocolove from AKB48 was a Japanese J‑pop girl group formed in 2007 as a sub‑unit of the popular idol ensemble AKB48. The unit consisted of Sayaka Akimoto, Sae Miyazawa, and Rina Nakanishi, all members of AKB48’s Team K and Team A at the time. Their debut single, "Ashita wa Ashita no Kimi ga Umareru", was released on 6 June 2007 and served as the ending theme for the anime The Skull Man. The following month, on 29 August 2007, they issued the single "Mail no Namida", further solidifying their presence in the J‑pop market. The group’s sole studio album, Dessert, was issued on 21 November 2007 under Universal Music Japan. Despite the commercial releases, the unit was short‑lived; it disbanded later in 2007 after Rina Nakanishi departed from AKB48. The group’s brief activity contributed to the expansion of the AKB48 franchise’s sub‑unit model, and their releases remain catalogued in the group’s discography as examples of early 2000s idol pop production.
