Biography
ChillinIT unleashed his tough-as-nails, no-holds-barred debut album, Women Weed & Wordplay, in 2018 and has been tearing up the Australian rap scene ever since. Born Blake James Turnell in Sydney, New South Wales in 1996, the whirlwind known as ChillinIT began sharpening his flow on the popular Hustle Hard TV YouTube in 2012, and spent six years toiling away at the coalface. After establishing his presence with the hardcore hip-hop-indebted and grime-flavored debut, which featured guest spots from fellow Australian hip-hoppers Wombat ("Underrated") and Lil Sknow ("420 Queen St") as well as UK grime MC Kamakaze ("AUS2UK"), the following year, ChillinIT achieved his first charting single in "Freedom," which made it to Number 87 on Australia's ARIA Singles Chart. His second album, The Octagon, came in January 2020, with the larger-than-life rapper having now garnered a dedicated fanbase known affectionately as the #420Fam. Embracing a rough-edged grime sound for third album Full Circle, which arrived at the end of 2020, in 2021 ChillinIT dropped the hedonistic, bass-boosted single "Henny & Reefer."
