Chiaki Fujimoto, known professionally as Chiaki, was born on October 26, 1971, in Maizuru, Kyoto, Japan. She is a singer and voice actress who began her career in the entertainment industry at a young age. At three years old, she started taking piano lessons, which continued until middle school. In 1991, Chiaki Fujimoto won first place in a talent audition TV program hosted by Fuji TV, marking her breakthrough into show business. Chiaki Fujimoto's music career took off when she became the lead vocalist and guitarist of the electronic rock group Pocket Biscuits in 1995. The group was formed during a popular reality show-like comedy program hosted by the comedy duo Utchan Nanchan. Their second single "Yellow Yellow Happy" sold over one million copies. In 1998, they performed at the annual New Year's Eve music show KÅhaku Uta Gassen, alongside the rival music trio Black Biscuits featuring Taiwanese actress Vivian Hsu. Pocket Biscuits released another million-selling record before disbanding in 2000. Chiaki Fujimoto also released her debut solo album Tirol on January 31, 2001.
