Chinese singer and actor Chen Chusheng was born on July 25, 1981, in the city of Sanya. From a very young age, he showed great interest in music and began performing at local pubs during his high school years. At the age of 19, he relocated to Shenzhen to pursue a career as a professional musician. After winning several contests, including the National Pub Singer Competition and the Super Boy talent show, Chen Chusheng signed with E. E. Media and released his debut EP I've Never Been Alone in 2007. Only a year later, he quit the management firm due to inappropriate use of his private information. In the following years, Chen Chusheng moved to the Huayi Brothers Music label and continued his rapid ascent to the top with albums like Legend of Shadow (2009), Yin (2012), and I Know You Are Not Far From Me (2013). In addition to his solo endeavors, Chen Chusheng has also written original music for films and TV series, including Qie Ting Feng Yin (2009), Hawthorn Flowers (2010), Float Light (2011), and That Distance (2015), and starred in the 2018 Chinese drama Forever Young. Journey to the Light, his sixth full-length, appeared in 2019 via Universal Music.
