Biography
Formed in 2012 in Connecticut by friends and schoolmates Joe Haller and Chris Duran, Cheerleader is an indie pop/rock band that has often been categorized under the nu gaze genre. The duo relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2013 and immediately began to record and release their demos via social media. The band released their first single, âPerfect Visionâ, in 2014. Expanded to a five-piece, Cheerleader began to receive recognition in both the U.S. and British music press. Their next release was the On Your Side EP, issued in October, 2014. In May, 2015, Cheerleader released their debut album The Sunshine of Your Youth. After a four year wait, the band issued their âBang, Bangâ single in 2019. The single was the precursor to their second album, Almost Forever, which was issued in 2020.
