Chaz Eugene McKinney, known professionally as Chaz Cardigan, and born on January 20, 1995, in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, is a singer and artist. He began his musical journey at age 11, teaching himself to produce and record using a TASCAM four-track tape recorder. Cardigan released his first single under the moniker Spazz Cardigan in 2016 and his debut LP I on January 20, 2017. He gained traction through a series of singles released throughout 2018 that accumulated over one million streams. In 2019, Cardigan signed with Capitol Records and Loud Robot, releasing his major-label debut EP Vulnerabilia on October 22, 2020. The EP included the single "Not OK!", which peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart. His song "As I'll Ever Be" was featured in the Netflix film To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You.
