Charles Alexander Landsborough is a British country and folk musician born on October 26, 1941, in Wrexham, Wales. Raised in Birkenhead as the youngest of eleven children, he worked as a teacher and apprentice engineer before beginning his professional singing career in the 1970s. His major success occurred in 1994 with the song âWhat Colour Is the Windâ, which describes a blind child's perspective and gained popularity after he appeared on the Irish television program Kenny Live. This led to significant chart success in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Landsborough released several studio albums, including Songs from the Heart and With You in Mind. In 1996, he converted to Catholicism. His 1998 album Still Can't Say Goodbye, recorded in Nashville, contributed to him winning the BMCA Best Male Vocalist award for the third consecutive year in 2000. Landsboroughâs songs have been covered by Foster and Allen, who recorded âI Will Love You All My Lifeâ, and George Hamilton IV.
