American soul and dance-pop group, Cashmere, formed in 1982 and consisted of Dwight Dukes, McKinley Horton on keyboards, Daryl Burgee on drums, and vocalist Keith Steward. The group's breakthrough came with their debut single "Do It Anyway You Wanna", which peaked at number 21 on the US Billboard Dance charts and number 35 on the R&B charts in 1983. This success was followed by another notable release, "Can I", which reached number 29 on the same chart. Cashmere's debut album Let The Music Turn You On was released in 1983, further establishing their presence in the music scene. In 1985, Cashmere released their eponymous album Cashmere, featuring "Can I" and reaching number 49 on the US R&B Albums chart and number 63 on the UK Albums Chart. The group also achieved notable success with singles like "Try Your Lovin'" and "We Need Love", which were well-received on the charts. Despite their achievements, Cashmere disbanded in the same year.
