Caroline's Spine are an American alternative rock band from Phoenix formed in 1993. Established by lead vocalist and primary songwriter Jimmy Newquist, the group performed virtually all instruments for their eponymous debut studio album, Caroline's Spine (1993). After winning the "Best Unsigned Band" title at the 1994 Yamaha Soundcheck contest, they secured a record deal with Hollywood Records. They achieved professional recognition for the track âSullivanâ (1997) and the studio recordings Monsoon (1997) and Attention Please (1999). The ensemble performed alongside groups including Aerosmith and Kiss and contributed tracks to the films An American Werewolf in Paris (1997) and Varsity Blues (1999). After parting ways with Hollywood Records in 2000, they issued the compilation Like It or Not (2000) and the studio recording Overlooked (2002). Following a period of inactivity from 2003 to 2007, the ensemble resumed activity with the studio recordings Captured (2007) and Work It Out (2008). Their discography includes the studio recording Stranger Angel (2020).
