Named after one of its memberâs summer fling, Carolina Durante is a Spanish indie rock band formed in 2017 in Madrid. Composed of Diego Ibáñez (vocals), MartÃn Vallhonrat (bass), Juan Pedrayes (drums), and Mario del Valle (guitar), the group released their debut EP Necromántico (2017) shortly after its inception via independent label Sonido Muchacho. They scored their first hit with the 2018 controversial single âCayetano,â which helped the band win two MIN awards for Song of the Year and Best New Artist. Follow-up single âPerdona (Ahora Sà Que SÃ),â a Marcelo Criminal cover featuring Operación Triunfo winner Amaia Romero, quickly blew up across streaming platforms and paved the way for their eponymous full-length debut in 2019. The album, which debuted at Number 2 on the PROMUSICAE Albums Chart, exposed them to a wider audience and was included in several Best Albums of the Year lists from both media outlets and tastemaker blogs. A promotional tour ensued, and the band soon found themselves performing at some of Spainâs biggest festivals, such as Benicassim, Dcode, and Low Festival. Despite the tourâs cancellation due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, Carolina Durante returned to the studio to record the aptly-titled maxi-single âDel Horno a la Boca,â which featured J of Planetas on the song âLa Canción Que Creo Que No Te Mereces.â 2022 saw the release of their second full-length Cuatro Chavales, supported by a tour throughout Spain and Latin America. In 2024, after releasing the promotional singles "Elige Tu Propia Aventura," "Joderse la Vida," and "Misil," the band dropped their third studio album Elige Tu Propia Aventura.
