Carmen ParÃs, born MarÃa del Carmen ParÃs Mondaray on September 18, 1966, in Tarragona, Spain, is a singer-songwriter. She studied various instruments at the conservatory in Zaragoza while pursuing a degree in English philology. Her breakthrough came when she joined the orchestra Jamaica, performing extensively across Spain. Paris's debut solo album, Pa' mi genio, released in 2002 under Warner Music, sold over 40,000 copies and won the Premio de la Música for Best Traditional Music Album in 2003. Her subsequent albums include Jotera lo serás tú (2005) and InCubando (2008). In 2014, she received the National Prize for Contemporary Music. Paris has also collaborated on various tribute albums, including those honoring JoaquÃn Sabina and Pablo Neruda.
