Juan Fernando Silvetti Adorno, known professionally as Bebu Silvetti, was born on March 27, 1936, in Quilmes, Argentina. He began playing piano at the age of six and later emigrated to Spain in 1955, where he worked as a pianist in jazz clubs. In the early 1970s, Silvetti moved to Mexico, becoming a naturalized citizen and launching his career as a composer, arranger, and producer for various artists. His breakthrough came with the album Mundo de Juguete, released in 1974, which featured music from the Mexican telenovela of the same name. In 1976, he released World Without Words under the production of Rafael Trabucchelli and the label Hispavox. Silvetti's work spanned multiple genres, including disco, with notable tracks like "Voyage Of No Return" and "Velvet Hands". His single "Lluvia de Primavera" became a global hit in 1977, staying on U.S. charts for over 15 weeks. Throughout his career, Silvetti collaborated with artists such as Paul Anka, Daniel Barenboim, and Milton Nascimento. He won several awards, including the ClÃo Award for television commercials, the Billboard Latino award for Producer of the Year in 2002. Silvetti passed away on July 5, 2003, in Coral Gables, Florida, leaving behind a prolific body of work that included over 600 compositions and numerous productions for television and film. He was awarded a posthumous Grammy Latino for Producer of the Year in 2003
