Carlos Alberto de Menezes Moniz, born on August 2, 1948, on Terceira Island in the Azores, is a Portuguese musician and composer. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists including José Afonso and Adriano Correia de Oliveira. Moniz released his debut album, Fungagá da Bicharada, in 1977, followed by Música Pra' Pular Portuguesa (1983), which featured the notable single "à Ai à Linda." In 1991, he represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 1991, and he also conducted "Amor de Ãgua Fresca," performed by Dina, at the Eurovision Song Contest 1992. During the 2000s, he continued releasing albums, including Herdeiros da Maresia (2003) and Um Gesto Pela Terra (2007).
