Biography

Carajo was an Argentine metal band formed in 2000 by Marcelo Corvalán, Andrés Vilanova, and Hernán Langer. The trio initially defined their sound as punk rock/nu metal but later expanded into groove metal. Their debut album, Carajo, released in 2002, featured the hit single "Sacate la mierda", which topped the charts for three weeks on FM Rock & Pop and had a music video that was highly ranked on MTV Latinoamérica. They were also notably named the Band of the Year by several prominent Argentine newspapers in 2002. The band's second album, Atrapasueños, was released in 2004. Carajo gained significant recognition performing at major festivals such as Cosquín Rock and Quilmes Rock, and touring extensively across Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, and Colombia. The group disbanded on January 18, 2020, after releasing six studio albums and one live album.
