Biography

Côr Godre'r Aran, a Welsh male-voice choir from Llanuwchllyn, near Bala, North Wales, was formed in 1949 by Tom Jones. The choir began as a penillion singing group and gained prominence at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Dolgellau. Their extensive touring started in 1969, taking them to countries including the United States, New Zealand, Argentina, Australia, and multiple venues across the UK. In 1975, Eirian Owen became the musical director of the choir. The choir has recorded over 10 times with Welsh record company Sain, releasing CDs such as Evviva, Cwlwm Aur, Byd o Heddwch, and Cofio. Notable achievements include winning principal awards at the National Eisteddfod of Wales and the Llangollen International Eisteddfod.
