Biography

Calle Ciega is a boy band from Venezuela. The group initially sang merengue-based songs but later transitioned to hip hop and reggaeton. Their first two albums, Caliente (1998) and No pares de sudar (1999), were released under Ricardo Montaner's label Hecho a Mano and earned them gold and platinum discs in Venezuela. In 2005, a new lineup recorded Una vez más, which was also released in the United States by Prisma Records. Jesus "Chino" Miranda and Miguel Ignacio "Nacho" Mendoza left in 2007 to form Chino & Nacho. Their subsequent new lineup, unveiled in 2017, consisted of Alonson "Alon" Urbina, Edwar "Hommy" Alvarado, Gabriel "Gabo" Mundo, and Hecson "Hache" Hernández. This quartet released the single "Mi persona favorita" (2017) and the album 2018 in 2017.
