Biography

Cake Like was an American indie‑rock band formed in 1993 in New York, consisting of Kerri Kenney‑Silver on bass and vocals, Nina Hellman on guitar and backing vocals, and Jody Seifert on drums. The trio met during a theater production at New York University, and all three had never played an instrument before forming the band. Their debut album, Delicious, was released on John Zorn’s Avant Records label. Later, Ric Ocasek brought them to Vapor Records, where they released Bruiser Queen (1997) and Goodbye, So What (1999). The band dissolved in 1999, when Kerri Kenney relocated to Los Angeles for her acting career.
