Biography
Cadallaca is an American indie rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1997. The group consisted of Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney on vocals and guitar, Sarah Dougher of The Lookers on vocals and Farfisa organ, and sts, also of the Lookers, on drums. The three women in the band adopted the nicknames Kissy, Dusty, and Junior. Cadallaca released their debut album Introducing Cadallaca in 1998 through K Records. Their second release was an EP titled Out West, which came out in 2000 via Kill Rock Stars. Songs from these albums were also featured on two Kill Rock Stars compilations. The band was known for their old-fashioned girl group sound, reminiscent of acts like the Shangri-Las, and often incorporated feminist rhetoric into their music.
