Cécile Corbel was born in Pont-Croix, Finistère, on March 28, 1980. The release of her homonymous debut album in 2005 unveiled her style of Celtic music with pop-rock accents and medieval influences, as on the two volumes of her Songbook, released in 2006 and 2008. Her popularity in Japan led her to compose the music for the film Arrietty, le Petit Monde des Chapardeurs, released in theaters in 2011. She continued the Songbook series with the release of two new volumes in 2011 and 2013. The following year, in addition to composing the soundtrack to the film Terre des Ours with Fabien Cali, she released a new album entitled La Fiancée. The next collection, Vagabonde (2016), includes a duet with Faada Freddy on the track "La Fille sans nom". Cécile Corbel continues with new imaginary themes on Enfant du Vent (2019), La Fille du Versau (2023) and Graal (2024), devoted to the legend of Tristan and Yseult. In 2026, she composes a new film soundtrack for Les Légendaires, in collaboration with Simon Caby.
