Biography

An Triskell, a French Celtic music group founded in 1970 by brothers Pol and Hervé Quefféléant, originated from Brest. The duo began their musical journey at age 12 with Alan Morizur, playing traditional Breton music under the name An tri eostig. Influenced by American folk music and the harp, they formed An Triskell, adopting the Celtic triskell symbol to represent their trio. Their debut album Dañs Plinn was released in 1973, followed by Musiques Celtiques (1973). The group's acoustic sound, featuring harps accompanied by flutes, bagpipes, and violins, gained them recognition across Europe. Notable albums include An Triskell (1975), Kroaz Hent (1976), and Troñ Doue (1979). They collaborated with artists like Alan Stivell and Gilles Servat, and their work was recognized by the Charles Cros Academy Prize.
