Biography
Buntspecht was founded in Vienna in 2016. The current line-up includes singer, guitarist and pianist Lukas Klein, double bassist Jakob Lang, cellist Antonia Luksch, saxophonist and flutist Roman GeÃler, trumpeter and melodica player Florentin Scheicher and drummer and percussionist Florian Röthel. Their musical style combines indie pop with influences from gypsy jazz, bossa nova, Viennese song and folk. they released their debut album GroÃteils Kleinigkeiten in 2018. This was followed in 2019 by DrauÃen im Kopf, which reached number 10 in the Austrian album charts. In the same year, Wer jagt mich wenn ich hungrig bin (Who hunts me when I'm hungry) is released. in 2021, they released Spring bevor du fällst, which climbed to the top of the Austrian charts. On November 10, 2023, An das Gestern, das nie Morgen darfte wurden follows. I am waiting. The album Konstrukt 5 is released at the beginning of 2025, climbing to number 5 in Austria and reaching number 36 in Germany.
