Biography

William Alexander Anthony "Bunny Rugs" Clarke was born on February 6, 1948, in Mandeville, Jamaica. He began his music career in the mid-1960s with Charlie Hackett and the Souvenirs before leading Inner Circle in 1969. In 1974, he recorded with Lee "Scratch" Perry at Black Ark and released To Love Somebody (1975). Clarke joined Third World as lead singer in 1976, contributing to their album 96° in the Shade. He released several solo albums including Talking to You (1995) and Time (2012), collaborating with artists like Papa San. Clarke received a Caribbean American Heritage Award for Outstanding Contribution to Reggae in 2012. He passed away on February 2, 2014, in Orlando, Florida.
