BS 2000 was an American rock and hip hop ensemble established in 1997. The group consisted of the musicians Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, Amery "AWOL" Smith, and Janay North. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by short instrumentals and sound collage inspired by the ensemble X-Ray Pop. The ensemble was founded by Horovitz and Smith following their work with the ensemble Beastie Boys. Their recording career began with the debut eponymous studio recording BS 2000 (1997). BS 2000 achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Simply Mortified (2000). Their discography included the single "Buddy" (2000) and the single "The Scrappy" (2000). The recording "The Scrappy" achieved professional recognition for a remix by the ensemble The Latch Brothers being featured in the video game Jet Set Radio Future (2002). The group became inactive in 2002.
