B.B. & Q. Band, an Italian-American post-disco group formed in 1979 and disbanded in 1987, was a studio concept created by businessman Jacques Fred Petrus. The band, named after the three boroughs of New York CityâBrooklyn, Bronx, and Queensâinitially featured session bassist Paris Ford and his musicians. Their self-titled debut album on Capitol Records included hits like "On the Beat", which reached number 8 on the US Billboard Black Singles chart, and "Time for Love". The band's lineup evolved with the addition of guitarist Kevin Robinson, Chielli Minucci, Kevin Nance, and Tony Bridges. Subsequent albums included All Night Long (1982), featuring "All Night Long (She's Got the Moves I Like)", which peaked at number 32 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play list, and Six Million Times (1983). Despite financial struggles, B.B. & Q. Band released their final album, Genie, in 1985 under Elektra Records, with notable tracks like "Genie" and "Dreamer". The band disbanded following Petrus' murder in 1987. Kevin Robinson recorded The Legacy (2022), collaborating with Davide Romani on the track "Gotta Keep Movin' On".
