Broderick Smith, born on February 17, 1948, in Hertfordshire, England, was an Australian multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. He migrated to Australia in April 1959 and began his music career in the mid-1960s with various blues groups including the Maltese Band and Adderley Smith Blues Band. In 1971, he joined Carson, releasing the album Blown, which reached number 14 on the charts in December 1972. In 1972, he also released the solo single "Goin' on Down to the End of the World". Broderick Smith released his debut solo album Broderick Smith in 1984 and continued releasing albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, such as Suitcase (1992), Songster (1995), and Too Easy (2002). His final album, Man Out of Time, was released in 2018. Broderick Smith passed away on April 30, 2023.
