Biography

Brixtonboogie, a German urban blues band collective from Hamburg, was founded in 2005 by Krisz Kreuzer. The group's name references Brixton, a London neighborhood known for its music scene, and boogie, an early 20th-century piano style similar to the blues. Kreuzer began playing guitar and harmonica at age 15, influenced by early blues masters. The band's debut album, Urban Blues, was released in 2009, featuring songs co-written by Kreuzer. The album included a cover of Depeche Mode’s "Policy Of Truth" and two tracks with sampled vocals from John Lee Hooker. Brixtonboogie's multinational lineup featured vocalists from New Orleans, Hamburg, Las Vegas, New York City, and Cameroon. The band released the EPs If I... and Nobody But You in 2009 and the album Crossing Borders (2013).
