Biography

Bright Blue was a South African pop rock band known for their progressive sound. The band's breakthrough came with their self-titled debut album Bright Blue in 1984. The band is best known for the protest song "Weeping", written by Dan Heymann and incorporating elements of "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika". The song became a cultural milestone when it was voted the All-time Favourite South African song in 1999. Subsequent albums include The Rising Tide (1988) and Every Now and Then: The Best So Far… 1984–2001 (2001).
