Valdimar, an Icelandic indie rock band originating from Keflavik, was established in 2009 by Valdimar Guðmundsson and Ãsgeir Aðalsteinsson. The duo gradually expanded to include Guðlaugur Guðmundsson, Ãorvaldur Halldórsson, Kristinn Evertsson, Högni Ãorsteinsson, and Ãrn Eldjárn. Their debut album Undraland, released in 2010, garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, featuring the hit single "Yfirgefinn." The band was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2011 Icelandic Music Awards. Valdimar followed with Um stund in 2012, which included radio hits like "Beðið Eftir Skömminni" and "Sýn," and was nominated for Album of the Year. Their third album, Batnar Ãtsýnið, released in 2014, featured the popular song "Ryðgaður dans." In 2018, they released Sitt Sýnist Hverjum, which won Best Rock Album at the Icelandic Music Awards. The band celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their debut album with a concert in Harpa concert hall in ReykjavÃk on April 23, 2022.
