Biography

Boris Bukowski (born Fritz Bukowski on February 5, 1946) is an Austrian musician from Gleisdorf. Bukowski performed as a drummer for the group Music Machine at the festival Popendorf 71 before joining the band Magic 69 in 1972. The group, later renamed MAGIC, released the albums Ich bin müde (1977) and Herzflimmern (1978) before releasing the English-language album Sick in 1980. The band became inactive following the 1980 release.Bukowski began a solo career and released the album Intensiv in 1987, which reached number 12 on the Austrian chart. In 1989, the recording "Trag meine Liebe wie einen Mantel" reached Number 1 on the Ö3 chart three times and number six on the national chart. The album 100 Stunden am Tag (1989) reached number eight and received a Gold certification. Bukowski resumed activity in 2001 and released the album gibt's ein Leben vor dem Tod? in 2017. Bukowski received the Amadeus Life Achievement Award in 2022.
