Maxx is a German Eurodance project from the 1990s. The band was formed in Frankfurt am Main in 1993. Producers Jürgen Wind and Joachim Keil are behind the project. Singer Linda Meek takes on the female vocal parts. Rapper and frontman is Lawrence Madia, who performs under the name Nana Abrokwa. Maxx combines Eurodance, reggae influences and dance pop. The group is part of the successful European dance wave of the 1990s and achieves high chart positions with several singles. In 1993, Maxx released the debut single "Get-A-Way". The song became an international breakthrough, reaching number 4 in Germany and top 10 positions in numerous European countries. The single also reached the charts in the UK. "No More (I Can't Stand It)" followed in 1994. The song again reaches high positions in Germany and Austria. The debut album To the Maxximum (1994) is released in the same year. Other well-known singles are "You Can Get It" (1994) and "Move Your Body" (1995). Maxx's music is regularly broadcast on music channels such as VIVA and MTV Europe. The combination of melodic choruses and rap elements in particular characterizes the group's sound.
