Bonnie Hayes is an American musician known for her roles as a singer-songwriter and record producer, with origins in San Francisco, California. She attended Washington High School and San Francisco State University. In the early 1980s, Bonnie Hayes founded the new wave band The Punts, releasing the single "Shelly's Boyfriend" before signing with Slash Records as Bonnie Hayes with the Wild Combo. Her album Good Clean Fun featured the song "Girls Like Me", which appeared in the 1983 movie Valley Girl. In 1987, she released her self-titled album Bonnie Hayes, which included the single "Some Guys" later recorded by Cher. Throughout her career, Bonnie Hayes collaborated with notable artists such as Bette Midler and Bonnie Raitt. She toured extensively, including opening for Huey Lewis and the News. In 1996, she released Empty Sky.
