Biography

Bobby and the Midnites, an American rock band, was formed in 1978 by Bob Weir, a founding member of Grateful Dead. The group's initial lineup included Bobby Cochran on guitar and vocals, Brent Mydland on keyboards, Matthew Kelly on guitar, harmonica, and congas, Tim Bogert on bass, and Billy Cobham on drums. Their first public performance took place at the Golden Bear club in Huntington Beach, California, on June 30, 1980. The band's debut album, Bobby And The Midnights, was released in 1981, followed by Where The Beat Meets The Street in 1984. Notable songs include "Too Many Losers" and "Haze." Throughout their career, Bobby and the Midnites were known for their dynamic live performances and fusion of rock with jazz elements. Their final concert was held at the Rio in New York on September 30, 1984.
