Biography

Clémence Lhomme, born on February 25, 1965 in Suresnes, Île-de-France, founded the duo Blues Trottoir in 1987 with saxophonist Olivier Defays, son of actor Pierre Richard. Their first album, Histoires Courtes, was released in 1988, a year after the huge success of their first single "Un soir de pluie". It brought them acclaim the same year, when the two musicians were named "Artists of the Year" at Midem, alongside a certain Vanessa Paradis. In the early 1990s, however, the adventure came to an end following differences of opinion with their label, although this did not prevent Clémence Lhomme and Olivier Defays from working together again later on, when the former embarked on a solo career.
