Biography

A key figure of the 1980s, Jeanne Mas (born in Alicante, Spain, on February 28, 1958) transcended the world of pop with her gothic looks, electro-pop/new wave repertoire and a handful of cult hits: "Toute première fois" (1984), "Johnny, Johnny" and, above all, "En rouge et noir" (1986). Over the next two decades, Jeanne Mas devoted herself to conceptual albums such as L'Art des Femmes (1990) and Les Amants de Castille (2003), in the shadow of the media spotlight. From afar, Jeanne Mas, who has settled in the United States, marks a few successive returns in 2007 with The Missing Flowers, then in 2011 with Bleu Citron and the following year with Made in France. A new album, PH, was released in 2017. Her eighteenth studio album, Goodbye Je Reviendrai (2019), is accompanied by a 3-CD compilation entitled Réminiscences and an autobiographical book of the same name. In 2020, her twentieth album Love is released, followed by a tour and two dates at the Olympia in Paris. The following year, the release of Sapore di Amore was followed by concerts at the Folies Bergère and in acoustic mode at the Théâtre de la Tour Eiffel. Always present on stage, thanks to a loyal audience, the singer continued to perform, at the Casino de Paris for the release of the album Phosphore, followed by Phosphore #2, then at the Trianon for Mon Elix (2024).
