Hailing from Denver, Colorado, the American death metal band Blood Incantation was formed in 2011 by singer/guitarist Paul Riedl and drummer Isaac Faulk, joined in 2012 by guitarist Morris Kolontyrsky and in 2015 by bassist Jeff Barrett. Signed to the Dark Descent label, the quartet released the four-track EP Interdimensional Extinction in 2015, showcasing their penchant for compositions leaning toward progressive metal. The following year, their debut album Starspawn was very well received by music critics and was followed by the live album Live Vitrification (2018). Building on its progressive and ambient elements, Blood Incantation released the album Hidden History of the Human Race in 2019, which garnered numerous rave reviews and appeared on the specialized press’s year-end lists. In 2022, they released the EP Timewave Zero, followed two years later by the album *Absolute Elsewhere*. Blood Incantation’s songs evoke not only death but also space and a fascination with unknown worlds. In 2026, the band released the documentary film All Gates Open: In Search of Absolute Everywhere, for which they composed the original soundtrack.
