Biography

Blitzkrieg is a British heavy metal band from Leicester, England, formed in 1980. They secured a record deal with Neat Records and released their debut single "Buried Alive", featuring the song "Blitzkrieg" on its B-side. Following an extensive tour of England, they disbanded in 1981. Their debut album A Time of Changes (1985) was released. The song "Blitzkrieg" gained significant attention when Metallica covered it on their maxi-single "Creeping Death". They returned to release several albums, including Unholy Trinity (1995), Absolute Power (2002), Back from Hell (2013), and the self-titled album Blitzkrieg (2024). Former guitarist Tony J. Liddle died in 2025, and founding guitarist Jim Sirotto died in 2025.
