Biography
Blank & Jones are a DJ and producer duo from Cologne consisting of Piet Blank (born June 15, 1971) and Jaspa Jones (born June 27, 1968). Their music ranges from lounge and chill-out to dance and trance. Their early releases, such as âDonât Stopâ (1996) and âLove Sensationâ (1998) were released under the band name Gorgeous. After several more singles as Blank & Jones, their debut album In da Mix followed in 1999, reaching No. 42 on the German charts and featuring the track âCreamâ, which achieved major international success by reaching No. 24 on the UK charts. In 2001, Blank & Jones received a 1-Live Award in the âBest DJâ category. Their subsequent albums continued the trioâs success; Substance even reached No. 6 on the German charts in 2002. Since 2003, they have regularly released chill-out albums that have consistently enjoyed chart success. Since 2009, they have been compiling remix albums and CD compilations for the EMI label as part of the So80s series, featuring successful artists from the 1980s, and since 2012, also from the 1990s. In 2020, the year of their 25th anniversary, Blank & Jones released two compilations: Relax Edition 12 and Milchbar Seaside Season 12. Relax Edition 13 reached No. 24 on the German charts in 2021. From the Milchbar series, Seaside Season 14 (2022), Seaside Season 15 (2023), and Seaside Season 16 (2024) were released. All three albums reached the Top 10 in Germany and Switzerland. In July 2024, Relax Edition 15 follows. Twenty years after its initial release, Blank & Jones release the compilation The Singles in a newly remixed version in early 2026, reaching No. 6 in Germany. In July of the same year, the album Relax Edition 16 follows.
